Adaptation: 21st Century Maasai
|
| “In the beginning, Engai lived on Earth in joyful communion with all the cattle in the world.” Engai is the Supreme Being and creator of all life in the Massai mythology, the god who gave all the cattle in the world to a human named Naiteru-Kop (the father of all Massai) after some kind of volcano explosion accident that placed him in the sky with diamonds, for ever. Therefore, the Massai believe that stealing cattle from other tribes, is not stealing at all, because how do you steal something you believe is yours? |
